Providing safe and easy to use access routes along the rivers is vital to encourage people to explore the countryside.

Work has been completed along the Corporation Bank, with the construction of a disabled access ramp to a picnic area, new steps and a bridge. This project compliments the Crowland Heritage Trail and allows access to the base of the bank.

In November 2002, funding was secured through the European Regional Development Fund and Lincolnshire County Council, along with several other partners, by the Environment Agency, to provide recreational facilities and improvements along the proposed route of the Fens Waterways Link, in Lincolnshire.
